kprotect - krpano Protect Tool

a new GUI tool - kprotect - krpano Protect Tool (not completely finished yet!)

it allows to:
- create protected panos for end users/customers and to protect your work
- create standalone viewers for windows and mac (.exe/.app files)
- embed and encrypt all or only some selected files direct into the swf file
- embed the license
- limit the panorama to specific domains
- set an expire date for the panorama
- create "branding free" panoramas (additional license required!)
- the final version will also allow to encrypt any kind of additional file

download it here with the beta tools:

I was wondering if you could explain this a little better what is branding free?

- create "branding free" panoramas (additional license required!)

what do you estimate the fee will be?

I have 3 files in the same folder - kprotect.exe,krpano.swf and krpano.licence ( my unlimited domain) and It is not possiblle to generate protected file.

Warning message:WARNING - licenses not found - DEMO MODE!

My license is recognised by kprotect.exe under "krpano Domain or Unlimited Domain License - "krpano.license" - third row.

What am I doing wrong? Do I need some other file with license? *confused*

Hello everyone,

thank you Klaus for these wonderful tools !

I just have a small problem with the krprotect : when I use the "embed xml" without putting any domain limitation, the .swf I obtain works locally, but displays a "License Error" when it is online.

Am I doing something wrong or is it a bug?

Regards,

Nicolas

Hi Klaus,

Do you plan to release krprotect for Linux as well?

(It would be nice to have it just as command line tool instead of a gui)
Phil.

Hi, yes I have planned a command line version - for all platform (Windows, Mac, Linux),
I'm only not sure about a GUI version for Linux...

Klaus

Hi,

you still use the 1.0.8 beta 6 krpano.swf,
have you updated the kprotect tool?

you could check the krpano.swf version in the setup tab in the kprotect tool,
maybe the path there goes to an older krpano.swf...

best regards,
Klaus

Great!
From a personal point of view, command line is more than enough -- actually a GUI would be useless to me.

Enhancement request...

Okay, here I am again with my weird requests...

The 1.0.8 Beta7 now has the ability to "analyse/resolve" dependencies.

Very nice, but...

... it would be even better if one could specify what to embed -- I am thinking about an additional set of checkboxes like:
[x] XML Files [x] SWF Files [x] Images

Alternatively an option to silently ignore dependency errors would be good as well

The issue I have is that I am transfering my XMLs to Windows to embed them, so basically I have the choice between
- click 50 times on OK because krprotect does not find my images...
- resolve dependencies manually and add my XML/plugins manually one by one...

(this is not something important, just a bit irritating...)
Phil.

Hi,

that's because the whole Flashplayer is embedded,
and the Flashplayer has this size, so there is no change for improvement
but therefore no installed Flashplayer is needed,

Klaus
