VR smartphone to choose

  • I have an iphone 4s and it's working fine.

    You can try to "clean up" your phone and if it still lag, maybe it's time for an upgrade, not sure there is a way around it.

  • Hello Angelo,
    I have the same problem

    With the Note 4 and the samsung Gear VR the animation look very jerky
    It's not a problem of internet speed, it's the phone inadequate
    I've tried to lower the display.framebufferscale parameter without success

    I'm searching for a smartphone with better performance, what is more important, the CPU or the GPU?
    If I was sure to improve the qualiy I could take the Note 5, so I could continue to use the Gear VR

    Note 4 --> CPU=Quad-core 2.1 GHz Cortex-A57
    ----------> GPU=ARM Mali-T760

    Note 5 --> CPU=2.7 GHz Quad Core
    ----------> GPU=Adreno 420

    Maybe a smartphone with a display with less resolution could help....

    Oli, with the iphone 4s you don't see absolutely any leap or lag?

    Thanks

  • Today in a store I tried a Galaxy S6 (some CPU/GPU of Note5), and I've found a definitely better smoothness viewing a virtual tour in VR mode, but still not perfect, sometimes some jerk was visible

    So I decided to preorder the Galaxy S7, that now come with a gear VR for free *smile*

    I'll keep you well-informed

  • Hi

    i like to replace my 720p HTC phone to a QuadHD one,
    important is the lag and the moving speed should be absolutely smooth with krpano.

    What is the cheapest recommended phone for this task?
    Are LG G3, G4 good? Any other tips?

    thanks
