the stereographic projection is funny. is it possible to fix the view so it always looks like a little planet as it turns ?

Ok, thanks.

hello,
is it possible to vary the restriction of the view dependant on the zoom level. ?
so when zoomed in you can look up ( like you are on the planet ) but when zoomed out the view is restricted so it always looks like a ball.

in krpano there is a y to do anything it seems. i just don't know how off the top of my head. i am sure Michael knows ! probably using IF statements. IF fov == a then use these settings, IF fov == b then use these. something like that may work i would needs time to figure it all out. just passing along ideas.

Hi,
Yes VN2009... if(view.fov LT XX, action_ToDo() );
I think the onviewchange event is the way to do ...
Look at this post from KLAUS: Level based authoring

that works
http://www.panagito.com/littlePlanet/vsnow.html
and
http://www.panagito.com/littlePlanet/vsnow.xmlI did a lot of steps which is OK zooming in but zooming out you can see the steps.
anyway to fix that ?regards

I wrote down every frame and it is smoother.

maybe that could be written in a shorter way ?cheers

so that seems to be working. now we need to put lots of those in a supposed 3d space and be able to select and visit a planet.
any ideas for that ? -
Hi,
what do you want to achieve?
e.g. a level for each little fov step like here wouldn't be necessary:
http://www.panagito.com/littlePlanet/vsnow3.xmlinstead of that, you could use the math actions to calculate some values
depending on the fov, that could be easiere.g.
Code
Display More<events onviewchange="checkfovchange();" /> <action name="checkfovchange"> set(view.vlookatmax,90); mul(...); add(...); sub(...); ... copy(view.vlookatmin, calcresult); </action>
but if you just want to reduce the fisheye distortion on zooming in,
set an higher "fisheyefovlink" value,https://krpano.com/docu/xml/#view
e.g.
best regards,

Hi KLAUS,
I think Mick was looking to limit the vlookat when fully zoom out to preserve the "littleplanet view" ...
is it possible to fix the view so it always looks like a little planet as it turns ?
So I have suggested to use the limitview="lookat"...
But then he wants to make the limitview range be dynamically greater when zoom in...
Not a bad idea i think ...

ermmm, how do I see the output of trace ?

mick -
hey thanks ,
that's a LOT smaller
http://www.panagito.com/littlePlanet/vsnow4.htmlCode<events onviewchange="checkfovchange();" /> <action name="checkfovchange"> set(view.vlookatmax,90); sub(calc1,view.fov,60); div(calc2,view.fov,5); sub(calcresult,calc1,calc2); copy(view.vlookatmin,calcresult); </action>

Hi mick,
PERFECT !!!
Quoteermmm, how do I see the output of trace ?
Do you mean trace(something to trace) action... If so, you have to press the o key to make visible the Krpano "debugger"...
