kmaketiles
  • a tool to make tiles for multiresolution panoramas
  • splits large image into many small images (tiles)
  • reassemble splited images and / or splits it again into other sized tiles
  • while spliting or reassembling the images can be scaled/resampled, for this it uses the high-quality Lanczos filter per default.
  • while scaling/resampling - it optionally blends the left and right edges of a image, important for panorama images to avoid a visible seam at these edges
  • this tool is optimized for very large images (gigapixel) and need only very few working memory! it can process a 2 gigapixel panorama by only needing 5 MB of RAM!

kmakepreview
  • makes smooth preview panoramas which can be shown while loading the big panorama image
  • by smoothing the preview image it's possible to compress it well and achieve small file sizes for fast downloads.
  • it uses a special smoothing algorithm to smooth the nadir / zenith areas better than standard smoothing.
  • makes preview panoramas from spherical and cubical panorama images.

ktransform
  • converts spherical- to cubical panoramas (SPHERE to CUBE).
  • makes single image for each cubeside (CUBE) or a single image with all sides in one (CUBESTRIP).
  • rotates spherical panoramas for postprocessing
  • extract 2D views from spherical panoramas
