integrating / embedding WordPress and krpano

Thanks that sounds like an ideal solution. I am not an expert but I thought iframes were seen increasingly as security risks, given their association with drop-in adverts and 3rd party content on a page? Finally any idea why someone went to the trouble of writing WP-pano, did it offer anything that was better than the humble iframe? Thanks James

integrating / embedding WordPress and krpano

I am currently attempting to add a Krpano feature rich tour. into a number of WordPress websites. There appears to only be one recent WordPress plugin available that integrates Krpano within the WordPress world, and this plugin is now obsolete and unsupported: is called “WP-Pano “. This legacy WordPress plug-in does function correctly on limited testing with current versions of WordPress however the unsupported code has not been modified since around 2015 and lags the current versions of WordPre...

tour_testingserver.exe passing parameters for alternate to index.html

Alexey, Yes, you are correct this is a good solution. However... To make things simple I didn't explain EXACTLY what I was doing. Thre intention is to have the final tour have 2 entry points. a. The main entry point (usually index.html) would be accessed normally by users, server based, nothing unusual here b. A second entry point would NOT be accessed by users, but would be accessed locally using tour_testingserver and allow the Client to run the tour with extra configuration layers enabled to ...

tour_testingserver.exe passing parameters for alternate to index.html

Fantastic Klaus. This means we can run locally with the tesyig server and show clients different options of the final tour for discussion. And otehr things too!. James P.S. Tour-testingserver.exe used was from build 2.20.2

tour_testingserver.exe passing parameters for alternate to index.html

To allow viewing/testing locally I want to use tour_testingserver.exe to run in a directory that has index.html and index1.html as starting points for the tour. Out of the box, with default directory CURRENT it uses index.html, excellent. But how do I set-it up to start with index1.html? The -open passing parameter seemed like a good start but I have tried several values, index1.html .\index1.html (and various other inputs juggling the path name) but on every occasion the page that opens fails, ...

Dynamically setting scale to a distorted hotspot?

Teardown to isolate the issue revealed the problem - my bad. For reasons too complex to explain <scale /> information is stored in a number of different static and dynamic files/locations. In one of these locations there was a scale declaration of scale.mobile and scale.nomobile, in a section all about different platforms, not explicitly about position & scaling. Lesson learned - attention to details! Closed! James

Dynamically setting scale to a distorted hotspot?

Thanks for the response. The space wsa a typo. I also changed set to copy (just in case), still the same operation. I'll start later to tear it down to something postable (currently multiple files, 1000s of lines) Next post will be either a solution (found whilst tearing-down, or the tear-down itself... James

Dynamically setting scale to a distorted hotspot?

I am sure there must be something really stupid that I'm doing setting scale: set (hotspot[name].scale, get(varable)); I am creating a new hotspot dynamically from a list of attributes (ath, rx etc etc). All are implemented as expected except the scale which stubbornly fuses to change. tracing shows the variable is correct but the set doesn't action the change, If a get(scale) is performed the old value remains. I have changed the order the atributes are actioned, switched off distortion whilse m...

bingmap radar display direction of rotation?

For the record: The bingmaps .js and .swf files are dated 4-Apr-2018 See http://gentles.info/KAP/krpano/plugins/bingmaps.swf and http://gentles.info/KAP/krpano/plugins/bingmaps.js therefore are after this posthttps://krpano.com/forum/wbb/index.php?p…&threadID=15321 Which talks about a similar issue with radar but as this is off-topic it goes back to the V7-V8 update? I am confused, is the radar rotation issue mentioned above solved?

bingmap radar display direction of rotation?

After more investigation, it appears in my example (see post above) the radar rotation differs between flash and HTML5. Without changing the above xml but introducing 2 new html load files FLASH VERSION: html5:"never" http://gentles.info/KAP/Gallery/Pano2014/bingf.htm RADAR ROTATES LOGICALY HTML VERSION html5:"always" http://gentles.info/KAP/Gallery/Pano2014/bing5.htm RADAR rotates in the reverse directoion (I have left on the server the original loader bing.htm, rotation with this depends on th...

bingmap radar display direction of rotation?

BINGMAPS built-in radar feature seems to rotate in the wrong direction. See demo here http://www.gentles.info/KAP/Gallery/Pano2014/bing.htm with xml herehttp://www.gentles.info/KAP/Gallery/Pano2014/bing.xml Radar points in correct direction when loaded then rotates in the wrong direction? With the radar plugin there is an invert parameter to change the direction of rotation of the radar display. With bingmaps, the built-in radar doesn't have this feature. But why should this be required? I MUST ...

The Birthplace of James Clerk Maxwell

A small tour of the birthplace of one of the worlds 19century forgotten thinkers, The first to demonstrate colour photography, predict the structure of Saturns Rings, Mathematically analyse Governers and feedback for the first time, mathematical understanding of gases (Maxwell-Boltzmann Constant). Mathematical analysis/methodology for the forces in bridges and any Framed structure, and MOST SIGNIFICANTLY he predicted that light, magnetism, radio waves, radiant heat, were all the same electromagn...

WebVR: Can hotspots be made to "float" in front of pano image, so they appear to be in front of the background?

Sorry, the depth issue is fixed! I was vieweing the images with the miopic naked eye but had the viewer set up with some distortion in the VR headset menu (about 0.5 units). For viewing without correction lenses in the VR glasses this should be set to zero! What I was seeing was not a feature of the krpano view but I correction feature of webVR viewing which should have been switched OFF! So what I learned here: 1. Although the pano is flat webVR can be made to subliminally add depth to a tour 2...

WebVR: Can hotspots be made to "float" in front of pano image, so they appear to be in front of the background?

Thank-you Klaus. Your suggestions are appreciated and have helped a great deal to fine-tune the addition of VR to this tour. I have one remaning issue I cannot understand. I am using webVR plug-in as delivred, and am trying to use it "out of the box" so I have changed NO settings in the delivered webvr.xml, and as few settings as possible in the tour. With your linear rule I changed the depth of hotspots to get a good feel for the scene so instead of the hotspots appearing to be in a 'circle' th...

WebVR: Can hotspots be made to "float" in front of pano image, so they appear to be in front of the background?

Klaus, Excellent! Depth is indeed what I was trying to describe! I believe by making small changes to each hotspot "depth" that will give subliminal clues making panoramas with many hotspots appear to have a 3D feel. The tour above has many rooms each with 10-20 hotspots, to many to experiment with the correct depth so I wondered if there was a known relationship, e.g. a suqare law or log(10), then I can quickly add depth based on my observation of the scene? So, in the panoramas above 1000 seem...

WebVR: Can hotspots be made to "float" in front of pano image, so they appear to be in front of the background?

Thank-you for making it so easy to modify existing tours for VR use with WebVR. I used this tour http://www.maxwellhouse.org.uk/ and with minor adjustments I very quckly got it 90% working. The revised tour (in development) is here http://www.maxwellhouse.org.uk/indexVR.html (after a few weeks the basic tour will probably have been upgraded and this link removed) Note: to access VR, open the menu bottom left and press the "mask" icon. The tour has pop-out portraits using hotspots, and text help ...

Testing Server fixed ip

So, best "work-around" I found was to always run the program with the internet turned off / unplugged, then reconnect once the server is running. That guarantees the IP to be 127.0.0.1. Hope that helps anyone else with this issue James

Testing Server fixed ip

I understand the IP address comes from the device, so I have fixed the IP at the router so it doen't change for downstream prcesses.. However I notice if it cannot get a LAN/WiFi connection it uses 127.0.0.1. Also if I am away from home or office then I cannot control the IP address allocation. Would there be any way to offer a limited number of alternative likes 127.0.0.1 or 10.0.0.1 . This would get a effectively fixed IP without a lot of coding to generate full fixed-ip functionality? OR is t...

Multiple panos on one html page starting before they are viewed?

Thanks for the comments: First, you are correct about the swfkrpano.js. This should be included once, and makes the code better. Its 2 years since I wrote this - poor excuse! Your second point suggesting the use of onclick. jalbum interpretes this code and handles all the filmstrip user interface, so I dont think onclick will work. The structure you see is presented as a <li> structure that jalbum interprests and displays as the filmstrip. This means if jalbum cannot run then the images appear a...
