well, i tried to use the snow plug for an experiment... but run into some questions...
1. is i possible to blend (tween) the snow?
i tried

set(plugin[schnee].visible,false);

and it works
i tried

tween(plugin[schnee].visible(4));

and it doesnt work... maybe i did some mistake...

[EDIT] of course a did a mistake... this works:

tween(plugin[schnee].alpha,0.0,distance(0.8,1.1));

thanks

Rotate the image

Hi,

The snow plugin is a very nice addon to krpano, I had used it in many ways and I think the image rotate option will be very good in order to give a natural falling down of a leaf for example.
If this option exists or can be set somehow please tell me, or you can keep in mind that posibility.

Excuse my bad English!!! ;-)

can we turn snow effect on and off? i tried this and it turns off the way it should but will not turn back on. alternativly if i make the snow off when loaded i can turn it on but then i cannot turn it back off. it seems you can only flip the switch one way then it gets stuck

RE: krpano XMAS Edition - let it snow ;-)

(at the moment this snow is integrated direct in this version, later it will be also available as external plugin)
This is great fun! One question... is it possible to blur the snowflakes at all? While it is very cool, right now the crisp 1-pixel 'flakes' are a too sharp to feel like part of the scene for more than a moment or two, but a slight softening would really help nail that realism thing pretty well.

Hi,

theoretical blurring would be possible, but that's a very heavy processing operation,
I think it would break down the performance a lot...

have you tried to use images for the snow flakes instead?

michel had made an very nice example here:
http://andorra360.com/panos/09/snowplugindemo/

and when you use a HIGH display quality (which will also cost a lot of performance with snow) it will be even more smooth (no pixelrate),

best regards,
Klaus

I must admit no, I haven't. I just took a look at michel's example. Looks good, definitely moving towards fully believable, but I can see it'll take me a bit of time and experimenting to work it all out myself. *smile*

Hi thatkeith,

have you tried to use images for the snow flakes instead?
I must admit no, I haven't.
You can access to the snow image that I used here. (the image size is 30x30 and it is white so it can seem there is no images but it is ;-) . It is simply a circle with a transparent degrade)

Hi,

sorry, the show plugins is made for 360x180 panos,
at the moment the snow particles are always spread for that range, but I have noted your request,

best regards,
Klaus
