video panorama

Hi Klaus,

In the old beta there is support for video 360 panoramas.

I have downloaded the krpano.swf file, the xml file and the flv file that is here to play around with it:
http://www.krpano.com/video/

However I get this error message when I try to test it - I do of course have Flash installed - I have flash 10, not 9 - is that the problem?

ERROR:
Adobe Flash Player 9 needed

Cheers,
Kim

I was able to get the sample on the linked page to work using flash 10. Got a hiccup when I right clicked though.

Hi Tuur,

If you want to shoot a live action panorama you will have to construct yourself a video camera rig consisting of several cameras with fisheye lenses or buy something like the Ladybug:

Graydon: I get the video panorama to work from the krpano URL no problem - it is when I download the files and try to run it locally that I am getting the error message.

Ok, I got it to work. I need to learn to debug my html and xml files properly before calling out for help.

My problem was that I did not have the java script files in the same location as the original...

Panoramic video is a cool thing, but until we get super broadband connectivity it is not going to be something you want to base your virtual tourism sites on I guess; to get proper resolution for a full screen 360 you would want 4k or 8K rez too, so that would mean setting up five Canon 5D Mark II with fish eye lenses in some rig, and some custom software to sync the recordings.

Cheers,
Kim

Hey Klaus,

Are you able to combine video panoramas with the map and radar, this: http://www.krpano.com/krpano.html?pano=e…s/tour/tour.xml

That would be awesome if possible. I guess you would need a path or a trail for the moving route; possibly integrate it with Google Maps as well? Maybe a future feature ?? *thumbsup*

everything is possible
the only difficulty would be to find a good and easy interface to control all
