Scrolling Thumbnails

Has anyone been able to create a scrolling thumbnails plugin?

I was trying to modify this one for Krpano, but i failed miserably.

Simple ActionScript 3 XML Gallery
http://www.blog.noponies.com/archives/16

or does anyone have any idea how to call a pano from a plugin ? that way I can modify the code, I tried just adding

loadpano(null,pano,KEEPALL,BLEND(1));

where pano is a variable containing "qtvr=test.mov"

but i got this error
1180: Call to a possibly undefined method loadpano.
1120: Access of undefined property KEEPALL.
1180: Call to a possibly undefined method BLEND.

any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Hi,

in the plugin, you must get the a interface to krpano and then call loadpano
in this way:

krpano.call("loadpano(null," + pano +"KEEPALL,BLEND(1));");

also have a look at the .as Actionscript3 source files from the plugins,
for more details

best regards,
Klaus

Well Thanks Klaus, that fixeds that part.

but I give up, after 2 nights trying to figure this out, I could not make it work, ir works, when i run the swf file by itself, but once i embed it with krpano I get this error

TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
at as3Thumbs_fla::MainTimeline/frame1()

and for the sake of me I cannot find where th problem is...

any ideas on how to debug this kind of problems?

Thanks

Hi,

this looks for me, like a access to the Stage object somewhere
in the beginning of the plugin, note - it's takes some time
until a object is already on stage and can access it,

do you have a ADDED_TO_STAGE event ?

you should do that first, before doing any other,

best regards,
Klaus

I removed EVERY piece of code that was not needed, and it works perfectly now :)

if anyone is interested I can post the code or the plugin :)

Thanks Klaus!

Ok guys here is the example.

http://www.vallartarestaurants.com/panoramas/krgm/m.php

its in NO way finished, but it works :)

I will make a zip and upload it, I a bit worried that the guy who wrote might get mad because i borrowed hes code, but i will include everything he has in the zip as well as a link to where the original was taken from, I am also going to email him and ask for permission, that way maybe Klaus can put it here to download as a plug in :)

guys, sorry I have had no reply from the creator of the original plugin, that's why I have not uploaded it yet, but what do you guys think?

create a zip file with all the files (original and modified) and upload it? or wait more for a reply?

sent the guy another email, i guess if he says no, I can always post the code changes and you download the code from hes website.

:) but hopefully he will say yes it will be much easier :)

job.1 that's nice, but I don't know if its me... or the plug in behaves weird, the thumbs move to wherever they want.

the one I adapted moves really nice and smooth (I think)

all I ask is please no mirrors to this file, download it from there as many times as you need, don't re-upload *cool*

how do you "unzip" a .rar file?

Or, more specifically, which free utility program should I look for online (Win Vista user here).
