Back on it...

Sorry. I haven't been paying attention to this thread. I'm whitelisted but now that 360cities is a pay program for pros I'll look into this more. I'll upload a pano as an .swf to my site, add the metadata to the head, and post it on facebook. Will follow up.

Facebook embedding, partially accomlished

I've done a test for embedding. Since I'm whitelisted, the pano shows a thumb and recognizes the swf and tries to play it embedded in the posts. However, the space just comes up blank. I'm not sure exactly what the issue is but I'll look into in a few more days. I've posted link below. Look for "EMBEDDED PANO TEST .SWF" posted this evening. Maybe someone will know how to fix this part.

I can see http://www.facebook.com/studiomds on his wall and it all looks ok except the full screen maybe you should put a link in the pano to say visit more pano examples

Ben... sometimes the same thing happen to me...

either FB server hv problems to 'fetch' or 'capture' or our server hosting speed arent good enough...

You said "sometimes" it hangs like that for you? I used the .swf droplet to make the cube and publish it. Perhaps a smaller file to begin with would work. Have you tried that? The guys at 360cities.net have been getting this to work for years now and to their credit VERY consistently.

yes Ben.. sometimes.. if today i cant embed directly.. i will try it tomorrow.. or if it kinda urgent.. i will change the .swf name or html name meta name or etc that can make it work.... or else tomorrow or later that weeks.. :)

id already try cube a smaller one.. less than 2mb file size and it didnt work also... tomorrow never die... :)

it is such a troublesome for your fan / visitor to grab the html link and paste / promote their fav pano inside FB... but what can we do.. / i do it is FB ecosystem ...
:)

360cities php or whatever their server setting or code that 100% compatible with FB... and they even advance in releasing krpano into Ipad even before Klaus reveal his code.. maybe im wrong.. correct me...

i think something wrong with FB server.. maybe u have to change / rename all the data.. from the html link name swf files name ... meta data name or maybe meta content name..

etc.. or else try again after few days...

i think this make the OTHER website flawlessly embed into FB

change / rename everything - i guess something wrong with FB .... thats i cant help you.. :(

the 360cities use that code for each or their user / member ......

as we.. compile / kprotect each file and try to embed into FB... and if we have other panorama we will do the same method..

the way i got mine to work was by passing the xml path with the swf path for the video source meta tag. have a look at the source html for this http://mdscubed.com/demo/quincy/room/ and see this same pano (minus the flash interface) embedded on my facebook page
