Custom Error Page.

Dear friends.

It is not exactly the KRPano programming issue, but an inportant question, that can be useful for other people too.

I make virtual tours on KRPano and host it on my own server. The client wants to embed with the IFrame container the tour into his web page, but the tour phisically remains on my server.

The client worries that for some reasons my server can be down and then the container on his web page shows "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" and this does not suit the corporate identity of the client :)

So is it possible to develop a custom screen for "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error with something like: "We appologize for temporary inconvinience. Please try our service again later." and some custom graphics or logos? How can you set this custom screen with IFrame container then?

Sorry, I am kind of amateur in HTML programming. Need help from professional comrades.

I make a brief resume.

The answer sais, that it is possible to write a script that checks if the server is available and either shows the tour or custom screen. The other option is to make a flash, that does the same.

Thanks for a hint, but I would highly appreciate some more specific advise.

Thanks for a suggestion. I was thinking about this solution. But this custom error page reports wrong address. I have a different task: to report a visitor that the other server (the one that is referred in the iFrame) does not respond. But if it does not respond, then .htaccess is not available either, is it?

Or do I misundestand a thing?

So If I get you correctly,

you want to load a content from another domain in an iframe. If this page goes offline, you want to show a message of some sort.

I think this can be done with javascript. (jquery for example) http://jquery.com/
