Cylindrical Pano Params

Hi guys,

I'm trying to put a cylindrical photo to work with krpano 1.0.8 beta 6.
The only problem that i'm facing is, in my example, you see on the
center of the kitchen floor and roof appears rounded.

This is my code:

Quellcode

1
2
3
4
5
6
<krpano version="1.0.8">
	<view fisheye="0" />
	<image type="CYLINDER" hfov="360">
    	<cylinder url="photo.jpg" />
	</image>
</krpano>

Original Image:

Print-screen:

I'm missing something?
This photo was shooted with an 0-360 lens.

Thank you

Hi,

your image seems to be stitched with spherical projection and not cylindrical,
try to replace CYLINDER with SPHERE in the xml:

Quellcode

1
2
3
4
5
<krpano version="1.0.8">
  <image type="SPHERE" hfov="360">
    <sphere url="photo.jpg" />
  </image>
</krpano>

which application and settings did you use for stitching?

best regards,
Klaus

Thanks for your help!!!!

That was really the problem.

When i changed to SPHERE the problem was solved.

For stitching i use the 0-360 software that was sent with the lens. Do you knwo any better software to do it?

maybe this is the problem, which app was that?
the vertical distortion still seems not completely right calculated...

lol *cool*

The sun is still free, we don't know about the future...

I was wondering that if there was any program cheaper then the PTGUI, cause i only need the basics.

ohh, it's a 0-360 one shoot, I haven't seen that
sorry, I don't know a free software for that,

I have looked at the image again, vertical distortion seem okay but not centered,
try to add a vertical offset ("voffset") to center the image,
e.g.

Quellcode

1
2
3
<image voffset="5">
   <sphere url="source.jpg" />
</image>

Thanks for the tip, you can see the result on:

http://www.imomedia.eu/cyltest/360.html

I'm still making "quality vr file size" tests.
I'm going to use this example on a html layout inside a 440x330 box.
