Convert a png Equirectangular image to png cubes

Hi,

Is there a way to be able to use the KRPano tools to convert a PNG equirectangular image to PNG cubes (while maintaining the transparency of course)? The only tool I've found that is able to do this is Pano2VR but it's overkill to buy a piece of software like that just to convert a projection in PNG.

Thanks.

Tuur,

Yes, kinda :). Do you know any other tool able to convert equirectangular pngs to cubic pngs?

It should be possible using the alpha-channel as an extra image. Just save the alpha-channel as TIF, drop it on the "convert sphere to cube"-droplet, just like the original image, import both to PS and drop the alpha channel-tif into the normal images alpha channel ;-)

Best regards

Nupsi:

Yes. Good idea. Thanks. I was looking into a more automated process not involving PS (yes, I can automate it in PS) but that's an alternative way to do it. Thanks.
