Logging errors

I'd like to make a system of logging KRPano errrors in virtual tours. I know there is onloaderror event but connected with erros of loading panorama. I need event that is fired where any other error occurs eg. missing graphics or executing nonexisting action. Klaus, is there any way to capture such errors?

That's kind of an interesting idea.
You could email yourself after you detect a bug on a clients tour after its been delivered or potentially redirect to a support page or show a popup screen based on the error level.
In the JS version you could access the trace output pretty easily, but I don't know about the flash version.

Hi!

I would like to re-open this thread as I think about implementing an error message sending on krpano loading error. I've changed XML files for my about 1500 panoramas recently and don't want to go thorough all of them to find out if they are ok. It would be very useful if I could fire an ajax to send me an email when an error occurs while loading panorama.

So is there some kind of event that fires on image/hotspot/anything missing? Or is there at least a way to be informed the console pops up or any other indirect evidence that something (wrong) is happening?

Thanks in advance.

Michal

Missing images are easy. Just check your webserver error logs.

Thanks for a tip - yes, it is an option. However I think it would be a "nicer" implementation to do it directly from krpano player/xml than to parse my server logs round and round...

Michal.

Hi,

you can use the 'onloaderror' event to get errors reported:
http://krpano.com/docu/xml/#events.onloaderror

best regards,
Klaus

Hi, Klaus,

I tried to use the onloaderror event like this:

Source code

1
2
3
4
<events
		onloaderror="js(send_krpano_error_message(lasterror));"
		...
/>

but that doesn't trigger the JS function when eg. one of the multires images cannot be found :( Am I missing something? Thanks for help.

Michal
