Beginner Help Embedding

Hi,
I am trying to embed the KRpano viewer into the html of my website, but am pretty lost. First question, should I upload the viewer files to my server? Second question, would someone be able to give me a simple html code that they use that works for me to reference? I am trying to follow the documentation but to no avail. One of the files I am trying to display is called pool.html, not sure if that would help in providing me with a simple code. One more question, the documentation says that a "target" must be set, is the target the name of my file that is uploaded to my server?

Thanks,

Dan

Thanks!

Hey thanks for the reply, although I am not sure what to do with the files. I did end up embedding my files within an Iframe and they seem to be working on all platforms. What would be the benefit of the viewer at this point?

Hi,
First question, should I upload the viewer files to my server?
Yes, of course!
The viewer, the embedding script, the xml, the tiles - everything from the pano/tour need to uploaded to your server!

Second question, would someone be able to give me a simple html code that they use that works for me to reference?
As first maybe just take the html file that the krpano tools/droplets are generating...
Maybe see also here:
http://krpano.com/docu/tutorials/#quickstarttut

I am trying to follow the documentation but to no avail.
Everything regarding the embedding the krpano viewer into the html page, is documented here:
http://krpano.com/docu/html/#top

One more question, the documentation says that a "target" must be set, is the target the name of my file that is uploaded to my server?
The 'target' element is the name/id of the html element, in which the viewer should be embedded.
http://krpano.com/docu/html/#target

Best regards,
Klaus

Thanks for all the replies, you guys are great. So If I am seeing my tours, am I using the viewer? One response said I see nothing without the viewer. Basically I uploaded my complete output files to my server and linked them in an Iframe..which is working fine. I have not done anything with javascript, .js files, kind of lost on that end.

If you can see something, then you are using the viewer. The viewer is krpano is the Flash and javascript software that drive the programming behind your virtual tour.
Trying starting at step 0 in the documention.
http://www.krpano.com/docu/
Go section by section over and over until it starts to make sense.
You may need to read some beginners introduction to html and javascript. Just google them both "introduction to html, introduction to javascript" etc.
If you are beyond this, then ignore. You question about "viewer files" was confusing as to your level of expertise.

Multi Res vs Regular

Not sure if this is on topic, but you guys have been tremendous help. Is there a difference in loading times between multi res and regular? Also, if I am creating panos where you don't really need to zoom in close, like a bedroom, is there any point to using multi-res?

Multires loads faster because it shows the tiles appropriate for the screen/viewer size.

Another Question

Ok so I took your advice and have been reading up on html and javascript, starting to make sense to me. I now know what files I am looking at in the folders, how javascript and html works (basics). I still have a question though...right now I am using the make Vtour droplets. After that finishes I am taking those files and uploading them to my server...then I create an Iframe and put the link from my server into the Iframe and everything works fine for me. I have been reading about embedding the viewer, which has a number of other steps, like embedding the .js file into my website just once, then using swfobject files...hopefully you know what I am referencing? My question is, should I be doing this instead of the IFrame route, what is the difference? Also, if I am producing a tour for someone to use, should I be giving them anything else besides the folder that Vtour outputs?

I know what the KRpanotools folder is for, but what is the Krpanoviewer folder for? As of right now I never open it or look inside it, should I be utilizing it in some way?

Sorry if this is redundant, just trying to get this all sorted.

The viewer folder is for learning. The tools folder is for getting things done. If you are producing a tour you can either give them the entire folder thats produced or just the html iframe file pointing to your server.
