Interrupt gyro with finger touch

Hi,

Some of my pano's are starting with the gyro default on. But is it possible to turn of the gyro as soon as the user touches the device anywhere on the screen ?
I tried it with the on interrupt event, without result.

I already solved it with a large invisible button on startup: http://assets.cityzine.be/vt/292/index.htm

But I hope there's a cleaner solution.
