calcultaing values outside in javascript

Recently I have been using a method with javascript to get the value of a variable from krpano, apply a function and return the variable by setting it in krpano...

I can see, that it is not a very quickly method, but I can extend functionallity like counting the lenght of a string ( I know it can be done with the extended Textfield) ...

Does anyone knows if it's better to make functions inside or outside krpano, for the performance side ?

thanks in advance

I experienced that Krpano is slow doing heavy math but didn't do performance comparison with js. That would be nice if someone can provide.

Lately I've been using Javascript for any slightly complex code. The reason is not so much performance, but the power of the language and the tools there are for debugging.
