Flat-multires on mobiles ?

This message to Klaus maybe, I read on the release note from the HTML 5 viewer

"Only cubical-multiresolution panos are supported at the moment!

Support for flat- and partial-panos will come with the next releases."

Can you tell me approximately how long it'll take to have this feature ? Will it be available when the 1.17 will be released ? It's the only thing missing for our work but it's priceless...
