Intermittent "ERROR: loading of image_u.jpg failed!" errors

We embed krpano viewer in our HTML5 app using the html5="always" option. We are hosting our app on Azure. We notice loading errors for some or all of the cube face images intermittently though:

"ERROR: loading of image_u.jpg failed!" errors"

Any idea what could be the cause?

Hi,

the error simply means that the loading of that images has failed - the browser has sent an error event instead of an complete event for that image - that's all, more informations are not available to the viewer script itself.

Maybe a missing or corrupted file or a server/connection timeout...

Hi Klaus,

I'm in the process of upgrading Krpano to the latest version (1.16.4) and I get the same error. If I use the flash viewer it works, however, if I use the HTML5 viewer it doesn't.

Hi,

please show a link to the example.

The typical reasons for loading errors are missing (wrong path, wrong server access rights) or corrupted files.

our customers are now getting similar errors

Our customers are trying to load our html5 panorama viewer (which uses krpano 1.16.4) at this site (please temporarily disable the flash plugin first to force usage of the html5 viewer - adding the query parameter html5=always doesn't seem to work):

and they are seeing errors like this:



ERROR: loading of http://media.everyscape.com.edgesuite.ne…66/TABLET_D.JPG failed!


I am able to load that media file successfully in another browser tab/window.
Does anyone have any idea what else might be causing the error message?

One thought I had is that the web server does not return the http header Accept-Origin (with value: *). Could this cause that error message?

Hi,

yes, that's a CORS problem.
Can be seen in Chrome with the developer tools.
