Updating "Scrolling Textfield" example

Hi to all there!

I'm making a tour with pop-up images and trying to get their text descriptions into textfield which would center themselves "left" or "bottom" depending on the image width and height. Soo. everything goes well and textfield updates to the needed percent width and height values. BUT. Some photos have too much text to fit into the textfield. That's why I decided to add "scrollslider" to the textfield, as it is in the "scrolling textfield" example from the Krpano download package. The problem is that my textfield has width or height defined in percents and the "scrolling textfield" example has a fixed size. I've tried to adjust the actions of this example to my needs, but there way too much variables that make me crazy (like ny, th etc.) and some numerical values which obviously depend on the text height (like value 24 which is the position of the scrollslider, as I understood it, but what is 170. hmm..). *confused*

See my test example here:

http://vt-vr.most-inform.com/
http://vt-vr.most-inform.com/vostochniy_vhod.xml

See how the scrolling textfield behaves if you resize the browser.

Any hints or help are really appreciated!!! *smile*
Regards,

Alexey

To see what all that is meant for, see the draft tour here:

http://vt-simf-hud.most-inform.com/krpano/

Enter any hall and click on any painting marked with the rotating palette. I need to make the text scroll independent of screen size and of text amount.

Alexey

I can't help you with your problem, but I like the animation of the images. Well done.
I suggest you also link the image to the rotating palette because this what first attracts the eye.

Hi! Thanks for your interest! I'll connect the palettes with the paintings, yes.

Concerning the textfields, I've made up some kind of a workaround, I wrote my own actions which move the scrollarea with text up and down, so if the there's too much text user can move it up and see. Moreover, the text can be dragged up and down with mouse. This works fine except the scrollbar to the right doesn't have scroll-slider button.

See here, I've re-uploaded the draft tour:

Talk to Andrey, he already has built a scrolling textarea xml plugin that works very well.
I don't see it on the plugins page so send him a PM.

Yours also works well except for on issue. It's possible to drag the text too far and lose it. I would check the position onmouseup so that it can not drag past a critical position. Then pro users do not need to use the buttons.

And I would add to the textfield a stoptween so that you can still drag it right after using a button.

Thanks! I've tried a lot. Actually, this is the new, emm..., "pop-up window system" introduced by me)). Photography is the great job of our panographer Paul, I do not shoot anything. I just make tours and translate them into English. Actually, this one will be in English, as soon as Russian texts are proof-read and ready for translation. *smile*

You mean scrollslider button as in the standard "scrolling textfield" example? I didn't do that, it's kinda tricky to make this scroll button. At least, for me.

Короче, я не запаривался с бегунком скролла, просто ума не приложу .как его там прописать...

Alexey
