html5 polygonal hotspots support

Polygonal hotspots are not included in the html5 version of the viewer, right? Also not in the new version 1.17, right?
Is there a timeline to implement this? It is a fairly important feature for our project and we would like to get it to work on iOS.

Or is there a workaround to have invisible hotspots that are not square?
We don't really need the polygons to actually show, we are just using it to create clickareas.

Thanks for any help.

Then why not use aligned distorted hotspots with transparent .pngs as url images?

Yeap, I agree! I wonder what are the difficulties which prevent html5 from drawing some spots and having some alpha-filled area between them. I mean why html5 can't do this *confused*

Hi,
I wonder what are the difficulties which prevent html5 from drawing some spots
The iOS drawing performance was just too slow, but this might have already been got improved with the latest iOS version. Implementing polygonal hotspot support for HTML5 is already on the list, but not with top-priority.

Best regards,
Klaus
