Planet projection

Hi to all!

I don't know whether this has been posted there before, but anyway. I've wondered many times how to make "planet" projection (like in Deval VR) - not a little planet, but planetar view of the pano. I was playing with some view settings and accidentally came to this:

http://vt-vr.most-inform.com/planet/

here's the code:

Source code

1
<events name="view" onnewpano="planet_view();" />

and action:

Source code

1
<action name="planet_view">	set(view.fovtype, VFOV);	set(view.hlookat,-60);set(view,vlookat,77);	set(view.fovmax, 155);	set(view.fov,155);	tween(view.stereographic, true);	tween(view.fisheye,1.0);	set(view.maxpixelzoom,1);	</action>

Maybe this would be of help to some of you ;-)
Regards,

Alexey

Wow, I've never thought of playing with view.fisheye parameter. Interesting...

I Checked DevalVR again and your parameters fit to DevalVr's "DOME projection" - meaning that the picture is mapped inside the sphere.

But I still miss its "Invert panorama" projection - meaning the picture is mapped outside the sphere................
