I keep getting an error that it's "unable to locate video"

the stars.flv is in the same directory as all of the other files.

Runs fine locally but not on my website.

Any ideas?

Hi,

it's the typical IIS web server problem,

the MIME type for ".flv" was not set and the server doesn't deliver the file,

it's the same problem like ".license" for the krpano license file,
see here for some details:

a quick solution could be to "rename" the video from "stars.flv" to "stars.xml" for example
changing the MIME settings would be better, but I don't know how to do that...

Are there any details on the variables to use in the .xml file?

My stars pano was with a 8mm fisheye pointing straight up, so the axis is weird

My test walk this morning was with the 8mm fisheye, but I couldn't figure out how to stop the viewer from rotating past the edge of the lens

I constrained the video to 480x320 so that it's not as pixelated.

video pano to demonstrate fulldome movies

We just finished an interesting application of video panorama, we are using it to show people what our FullDome movie "Crossing Worlds" is like to those who have not visited a FullDome theater. We just showed the film at DomeFest and did a short presentation on how to create video panoramas w/ KR Pano for the other Dome Theaters and film makers at the festival. There is a big need for this because dome folks often show a "dome master" (fisheye projection) image that is hard for the public to read.

Seems to be absolutely fantastic.... My internet connection is a bit slow and I see it frame by frame.... only one remark; why to not use the krpano fisheye projection to display this movie? It would be better displayed than with normal do not think so?

Sorry to hear about the connection issues. We have only have tested in on high bandwidth in the US, our servers are in LA so that may be part of the problem. How bad is the streaming? It is a 125MB file but I figured over a 5 minute movie it should be no problem.

It is a regular still pano on the bottom half, then we comped the movie in. We added some lighting to the seating using the movie as a source in the comp.

A fisheye option is a good idea, I should add it to the contextual menu. Mainly though we want a interactive rectilinear view, we have a fisheye render (in fulldome they call this a domemaster) on our vimeo site http://www.vimeo.com/xrez/ but it is really hard to see the subtle movement in it.

Nice work Greg! When one has seen the piece in a dome (as I have) it is a somewhat different experience I guess to see it as a rectilinear video pano.

I have the same problem with the bandwidth over here, but will check it from work tomorrow.

nice work! i had a thought of using a ladybug3 to do the same thing. we have an imax theater in my town. could never afford the camera just an idea. your probably gives better image quality though, very nice.
