Hello
we are one of your licensed krpano users
we where trying to convert our html5 cubical krpano to spherical
but it keeps alerting "No HTML5 compatible images available"
our images generated as spherical
you can see cubical krpano here
360yerevan.com/embed/91001/
and on our test server example of spherical krpano which was broken
dev.360stori.es/embed/91001/
can you please help us point out what we are doing wrong ?

Spherical is not supported and is a poor option for flash as well.

No spherical and cylindrical are supported on HTML5 player also (not Flash only) but in mono-resolution only.
But you're right cubical is the best way for better accessibility and better performances.

Hi,

right, sphere and cylindrical is supported in HTML5 too - but only as single/mono-res image or video - AND - only when the device is supporting WebGL (!).

On iOS WeBGL is only available with iOS 8 or higher and on Android the WebGL support varies from device to device and browser to browser. But the newer and better the device, the higher the probability that WebGL is supported.

So as already said - cubical would be recommend format - better compatibility, better image quality, better performance, multires support.

Best regards,
Klaus

Hi Klaus,

If mono-res is supported wouldn't multi-res be possible as well. I understand it isn't the best for performance reasons but is it possible if you really wanted to offer it?

Hi,
If mono-res is supported wouldn't multi-res be possible as well.
Possible - yes (when WebGL is available), but currently not implemented - a lot of additional code and time would be required for this.

Supporting it is planed (at least for version 1.20), but currently I'm working also on many other tasks, so this hasn't a very high priority yet (especially when the quality when using spherical will be lower compared to using cubical).

Best regards,
Klaus
