Interactive animated hotspot - works in non-VR mode, but not in VR mode

Hi,

So I'm trying to add small animated sequences like fire in the fireplace to a pano, and it needs to work in VR - so I immediately scrapped using video with alpha. So I looked at animated hotspots and combined it with the method from interactive area. I used PTGui to extract the area to animate, and to get the fov/yaw/pitch/roll coordinates, created a simple 8 frame animation of that exact size, and used do_crop_animation to animate it. So far so good. In desktop and on mobile, this works perfectly. However, if I switch to VR, the animated hotspot does not only miss it's position on both left and right eye, but it also gets the depth of all regular hotspots, making the experience incredibly confusing. Changing the depth reduces the scale, and thus it misses completely and looks much worse.

You can check it out here: http://www.oxivisuals.no/clients/oxivisuals/roakollen/

You will see the animation as a simple color-cycle within a pictureframe just to the right of the balcony door.

Is there any way to make this work properly ?

Thankfull for any help,

-morten

Hi,

add depth="off" to the <hotspot>.

Please see here for details:

Child Elements for Hotspot in VR

what about child elements in VR?
At the moment i have hotspots that are nondistorted with dynamically generated child elements that are showing up when you click the parent. Now I can see the parent in VR, but when i look at the hotspot it won't load the child elements. Do i have to set a special flag for those?

Thanks
Sven

Currently not supported.

As alternative overlapping hotspots could be used...

what do you mean with overlapping hotspots?
Two or more hotspots at the same ath/atv position with the overlapping order controlled by different zorder settings. And for offsets use the edge and ox/oy settings.
