not quite sure, it seems to be the angle diagonally across the matrix.
I would still do a button for the crop factor
type FF, crop 1.6, crop 1.3 and so on.
In fact, the code is much smaller:
<!-- fov_to_focallength(Crop factor); For a full frame - 1 -->
<events name="showfocal" keep="true" onviewchanged="fov_to_focallength(1);" />
<layer name="pos_info2" keep="true" alpha="1" align="bottom" x="300" y="350" width="100" url="%SWFPATH%/plugins/textfield.swf" enabled="false"
padding="8" background="true" backgroundcolor="0x2D3E50" backgroundalpha="0.7" css="font-family:Courier; color:#FFFFFF; font-size:12px;" />
<action name="fov_to_focallength" >
Math.tan(field,calc(view.fov / 114.6));
calc(focal,21.622 / (field * %1));
copy(print_fov, view.fov);
roundval(focal, 1);
roundval(print_fov, 1);
calc(layer[pos_info2].html,'F = ' + focal + ' mm[br] FOV=' + print_fov + '°');
</action>

I'm not using the crop factor setting that you created.
I'm using it manually because I need other important changes, not only to show a different focal length number.
But what I tried now is that the crop factor is inverted.
When I put 1.5 on the crop factor, the focal length get smaller, not bigger.
And, of course, it doesn't translate to view.fov. It's only a number changing.
For me, the way you made it is perfectly fine!
Thank you so much!!!
As I understand it, the croep factor shows correctly
Actually no.
The crop factor will multiply the focal length value.
If you have 100mm in Full Frame, the 1.5x crop factor will give you 150mm.
On a full frame of 50 mm you will get the same angle as on the crope of 33.4 mm
On the crope of 50 mm - the viewing angle will be less than 50 mm on the full frame.
Ahhh!!
Now I understood what you're doing.
You want only to show what focal length would be in the cropped sensor.
I thought you wanted to create the possibility to change the view to the cropped sensor, on the same focal length.
So... You're right. We both are! hahaha
