Testing Server fixed ip

  • I understand the IP address comes from the device, so I have fixed the IP at the router so it doen't change for downstream prcesses.. However I notice if it cannot get a LAN/WiFi connection it uses 127.0.0.1. Also if I am away from home or office then I cannot control the IP address allocation.

Would there be any way to offer a limited number of alternative likes 127.0.0.1 or 10.0.0.1 . This would get a effectively fixed IP without a lot of coding to generate full fixed-ip functionality?

OR is there an easier way I've missed?

  • So, best "work-around" I found was to always run the program with the internet turned off / unplugged, then reconnect once the server is running. That guarantees the IP to be 127.0.0.1.

Hope that helps anyone else with this issue

  • Regardless of what Krpano test server says,
it's good to go with your local computer server ip and its port.

    For example,
If you're using wireless router and your computer got the ip - 192.168.0.1
but the krpano test server says

    "
Server address for the local network:
    http://192.168.56.1:8964

    "

You can also access to the url - http://192.168.0.1:8964

I don't know why krpano test server says different ip.
    But it works for me.

The important thing is the port that krpano test server opens.

  • Hi,

the testing server currently uses the the IP address from the first network-adapter that the system provides (a system can have several IP addresses).

Adding a select-box for all available network-adapters is already on my todo-list.

    Best regards,
    Klaus
