Hardware to support krpano in 4K

I have a late 2014 fairly high end IMac5K that displays multires krpano panoramas at a pretty miserable frame rate when going full screen. In a window covering half the screen, so about 2.5k resolution, it's smooth as silk. I also have a 4K external monitor I can hook to the IMac and the results are pretty much the same. I assume that I simply need better hardware to be able to get decent 4K frame rates. So what hardware, in terms of cpu and gpu, do folks have out there to be able to display krpano panoramas in 4K with good performance? Note that the panoramas are being displayed within a web app that utilizes the krpano javascript API, and you can view any of the panoramas within the Grand Canyon Panorama Project at project.gcpano.org

I'm not a pro but I've heard that you need as much RAM as you can afford and fast CPU. Personally I'm using i7-4790K and 32GB DDR4
