Maxwidth on Textfield??

I know this has been discussed before and Klaus, some time ago you wrote that this would come in a future version. Seems it still isn't working so,

1) Any idea when it will be fixed?

2) Does anyone have a workaround that doesn't depend on a fixed pixel width regardless of the text width?

Unless I'm missing something I can't get a container to work for this (easily). If you define a container width in pixels the text will wrap to that width if the text width is 100%. The container will not size itself to the text, so maxwidth doesn't work.

There is a way to get the same effect programmatically but it is vastly more complex than being able to use maxwidth on a text field.
