Casa Tuur

Hi,

i made a Sloppy Tech Study with the 3d model thingy.
Did a lot of experiments, both in Blender and Krpano, and mostly focussed on Oculus quest 2.
Many of them are not in this sloppy example though.

Also did quite some testing on the modelling.. although.. at a certain moment i was done with it..
So.. sorry.. no 8k texture for phones and desktop in this example.. etc..
Also made many more photoshop edits a few versions before.. but doing it again and again.. haha.. i just stopped trying to make it nice on every render..
Learned a lot though..
So the next project is about to start.
I might re-do this one though, later.

So,
As Covid-19 spread around and you all aren't able/allowed to visit, I invite you in a part of my home. ( we live here just a few years, much still needs to be done. And i didn't clean before the shoot. *w00t*

The example is made for my self to do a first try on this 3d blender--> krpano and learn..
At the end i decided to show you ..
Just experience it and be mild on the sloppy modelling etc..

https://www.virtualtuur.com/casa/tuur/

With special thanks to Michael Eva (!!) for his PanoCamAdder for Blender procedure and support.

Tuur *thumbsup*

Nice one tuur!
Just the dollhouse edge is a bit strange? Would be better center of the house no ?

Hi,

Sure.. it was in the center.. but i extended the model later on and made a new center.. i could change quite easy but for me more important was the lessons i learned..
I called it sloppy for a reason :-)

Hi,

thanks Piotr.. it helps me much in understanding and learning doing these kind of 'studies'.

@Jerome.. yes.. thanks.. i agree, of course .. ;-)
is fixed now..

i didn't see it on pc and oculus Go yet.. only mac, iPhone,Quest2..and a quick look on android and some tablets.. in an earlier stage,
It could be that it is not perfect everywhere..

Some of the details i tried:

- you can click the tv and come in 'watch' mode.. a tv guide button should appear in the right corner. You can make a selection.
If you want to 'stand up' again just click the tv again.
- On oculus Quest 2 i found the lefthand joystick too sensitive.. wanted to move slower.. so i made a little 'threshold' + setting on the 'moving' in the depthmap_navigation.xml
- On the Quest, i guess also in the Go, the audio playlist is inside the table in the 'garden room'.
- When you hide the menu on mobile the fingerprint/thumb control is still there.. invisible though.
- In dollhouse mode after 15 secs the autorotate kicks in.
- Some audio streams seem not to work in iOS.. for that a restricted menu. When i put those links directly in the browser they seem to play better..(continue).. not sure here..

I had great help with my custom toolbox preV2 for placing hotspots and find the right numbers for 'views' and positions.

It would be great to be able to move and go up down at the same time (on the Quest.. not sure if it will be possible to assign also the A/B buttons .. other wise only swapping the joystick functionality seems an option.. (?) somebody?

Hi,

i was pointed to the fact that the move control on the GO was way too slow.
Should be fine now/default.
On Quest (only) i put it a bit slower for convenience.

Can somebody with a quest 1 check this as well and let us know??
How does it moves? Should be just fine.. not too quick at least.. but also not very slow.

I also find that when you click the tv on Quest that you need to first go away from the tv with the pointer before you can click it again..(focus issue? . there is no over or hover stuff there.. capture false though).

Very good! I discovered an undocumented feature - Dolly Zoom. I wonder if this can be programmed?

Hi,

@Sergey74
not sure what you mean.. can you explain or show?

@lrivero
this is just one object.
Have a look at the panocamadder tutorial by Michael Eva.. Also the multitexture baking might help.
The script is mainly the same a the example in your krpano download package.. only with tons of custom changes and experiments.
I will not share this code.
I prefer doing paid jobs.

Hi,

i added some more test stuff in context menu.
*g*

especially the drawing effect i like..
in vr you should make context menu choices before you enter vr.. on the intro splash screen (!).

I find that when i apply zFilter the depth buffer seems to be gone.. but it is something else.. when i set depthbuffer dynamically after change it doesn't change..
@klaus any clue?

Nice project

Hi Tuur,

The project is super cool, I like your house with the plants :)

Despite the low number of 360 ° the 3D rendering is very good ... I am curious about the time to realize the Depthmap / 3D rendering? And how much could it cost?

I love the effect on TV, I had seen something similar on a pure 3D creation, it allowed instead of your TV to have a 3D object that we could customize: colors, options etc. ..

In any case, the work is great.
We just have to find out how to offer this option to our customers ...

obviously that depends on ALL details of the 'project'.
But it costs.. yes.. unfortunately there seems to be no interest AT ALL in making nice interfaces ( to your taste or wishes), nor in other highly useable interactivity features that are possible. Once and a while i try to show stuff... Unfortunately it brings me NOTHING.
Most people seems to do only the most obvious and simple stuff.. as long as it costs nothing.
Rembrandts in cheap Tesco frames i would say.

It is just a hotspot. You could do anything there.
Controlling objects etc.. will come.. i'm sure..

Making a customer pay a fair price is the trick.
It's long ago i've see that happening.
Even most 360 photographers seem not to care nor understand the medium.

I can use hotspots like image hotspots.
But...
I'm not sure what you mean when you go to the link below.

Is there an easier way to understand the combo box I need to use to create a list and the URL I need to enter multiple songs?

hotspot type = text
no combobox.. just a few text hotspots

onclick

streamaudio = internet radio url
