Tutorial(?) - automatically geo-tagged panos & tours (streetview style)

I have a paid license and am very impressed so far with krpano. I have spent some hours on documentation and forums, and it seems the info on this subject is a bit scattered, and I hope with some help we can create a small tutorial to achieve an automated streetview-style workflow.

I have many GPS/EXIF tagged panos that I wish to be able to automatically get inserted into a tour with an interface similar to this one: http://jademo1.rpmedia.is (xml attached)

I tried testing this with the vtour droplet - but it would not insert the EXIF/GPS data into the xml. I added parsegps=true to the config, but I do not know what other steps are needed - I am not familiar with using placeholders and have been searching forum and docs for a place to begin.

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Hi,

I tried testing this with the vtour droplet - but it would not insert the EXIF/GPS data into the xml.
When it doesn't load the GPS data, then the GPS EXIF data might be not there or not correct...

Best regards,
Klaus

Attached is a exported JPG with GPS data in EXIF - verified by an EXIF viewer, but i see lat/lon arent populated in windows file properties under GPS. This is from pointgrey ladybug3 camera capture/export. Interested in your observation as why VTOUR isnt grabbing GPS info...

Hi,

thanks for this image!

There was a small bug in the exif-gps parsing that caused that the gps informations couldn't be loaded from that image. In the next release this will be fixed.

Best regards,
Klaus

Any news on this?

I made a Streetview from our village, but we want to view it totally offline too.
I already have the extracted equirectangular jpg files (3000+) with gps metadata at every 5 meters.
How can i make a tour automatically (or with very least work..) with navigating arrows, just like streetview?

Possible with krpano alone? Or do i have to buy a plugin?
many thanks!! *smile*
