To support and edit xml files:
Do I put virtual tour data files on the client site and XML files on my site?

Hi,

that's fully up to you - you can place all files anywhere you want.
Each file could be on a different server if you want ;-).

But for cross-origin/cross-domain access just make sure to setup CORS correctly on the server to allow the access:
https://enable-cors.org/server.html
