krpano 1.21 (pre-release)

Hello,

here is the first pre-release of version 1.21:
krpano 1.21 Download

It's ready to use and almost finished, only a few minor features and some examples and videos are still in work.

Many things have changed in this release and some of these changes might require manual adjustments when updating older projects, so in case of updating, please check here the: Compatibility Notes

  • krpano 1.21 is a major update with improvements in all areas of krpano.
  • In this release, the internals of the layer/hotspot/textfield system are completely new. The system has been redesigned and reworked for better performance and to provide additional possibilities and features.
  • The new system provides Automatic Layouts, Editable Textfields, Scaleable Layers, Containers and Textfields, a now built-in Scrollarea, the usage of CSS classes for styling and CSS styles directly defined inside the xml.
  • For scene-to-scene navigation there are now nice 3D Transitions with a Motion-Blur effect. They mimic a 3D movement even on normal 2D panos (but can be used on 3D panos too).
    A small tool in the VTour Editor for easily creating such 3D Transitions is also included.
  • The support for 3D-Models and Depthmaps has also been improved. The loading is faster, it is possible to make 3D-Measurements and to use Collision-Detection when moving around in the 3D-Model or the Depthmapped-image.
  • Polygonal Hotpots can now be placed also in 3D-Space.
  • The Multiresolution loading is significantly faster, especially on fast network connections by better utilizing parallel loading and parallel processing.
  • The Actions System has been improved and provides an extended Javascript Support.
  • And there are many many detail improvements.

there was such a problem when Klaus updated NWJS

Is there a message or what exactly happens?
Or is there maybe some anti-virus or content-blocker software that is wrongly preventing it?

Technically the 1.21 version is using the same NWJS runtime as version 1.20.11, so when the old version was working, the new one should also work... And in my own tests on multiple Windows systems (7,10,11) there was no problem...

Already had a similar problem, the process simply does not start. but from the command line krpanotools.exe works. the problem was in the version of nwjs in which you did tools

In principle there is nothing strange, but I'll check it tomorrow, they just don't run, nothing can be seen and the testing server runs but the viewer does not open the content, the same message appears as when you forget to open the testing server

So cool!

Collision detection in VR is a must :) Works nicely!

My wish is only about the rotate. Instant headache when i look around with the joystick :)
Instead of smooth, is it possible to use snap or step turning? (like in Brink traveler, check if you have)
That makes no more nausea :)

Also forward movement speed should be adjustable with the joy, but i'm sure it's possible.
Will buy the upgrade *thumbup*

Hi Klaus,
Not sure it's full implemented yet but I see in the doc that hotspots can now be childrens of other hotspots ?
Did a quick test but don't understand why the children hotspot is not at the same position of the parent hotspot ?

What information do you need? because I don't see anything strange, any other executable works perfectly?

It is a recently purchased PC and the version krpano-1.20.11 works perfectly.
