This is an issue with Chrome for Android rather than krpano itself.
It seems the current stable version of Chrome for Android (114) and the beta release (115) have broken inline video (eg
https://krpano.com/releases/1.20.11/view…o/videopano.xml and
https://krpano.com/releases/1.20.11/view…ideohotspot.xml) when using older versions of the Android OS. Seems to be a webGL issue as I'm getting the error "[.WebGL-0x5f8fd600] GL_INVALID_OPERATION: Invalid internal format 0x1908".
Android 7 and Chrome for Android 114/115 shows a black screen except for a small square in the bottom left corner.
Android 7 and Chrome for Android Dev version (116) works.
Android 8.0.0 and Chrome for Android 114/115/116 show the first frame but only the audio plays.
Unfortunately I only have devices running Android 7 or 8.0.0 so I haven't been able to test other OS versions.
I've reported a bug to Chromium.
However, I wanted to ask:
- Can anyone confirm whether this affects any other Android OS versions (8.1.1 onwards)? If not, I don't need to worry too much as only about 2.5% of Android users have Android 7 or 8.0.0
- Is there any way to keep the video's poster image visible? A still image would look better than a black hole for those users it affects, but I can't think how to detect if the video is blank but playing!
Thank you.
