Using a single STL/DEPTH for all the panos

Hi Klaus,

i was wondering if there's a way to use a single STL or DEPTH file for all the panos, instead of generating one for each one of them?
Alternatively if there's a way to offset a STL on the x/y/z axis?

Obviously i don't know what this would imply, but it looks like an easy and logical jump as you already have a 3d space defined.

Please let me know *smile*

Kind regards

Hi there,

i have the same question! Any news on this point?

have a look at https://krpano.com/docu/xml/#depthmap.center

you can move / rotate your depthmap in the 3d space separately from the panorama projection center (if not uv-mapped)
if you set up all coordinates / axes correctly it works, i'm using one depthmap for multiple panos....

Thank you. I can easily move my depthmap with using of depthmap.center, but how can I rotate the depthmap itself?

Unfortunately, all panos were renderded with 155° so I need to rotate just the 3d model, hotspots and panos shoud stay on the same position.

sorry... yes...can rotate the model using depthmap.axis but sadly only in 90 degree steps

I'm using one depth file. Any solution for this?

as far as i know the depth file is re-used and doesn't need to load again since 1.21
you can use the identical depth file and give each pano different coordinates

Hi!
Here is an example which I created with PanoCamAdder2.

In this example I have included both options.
Purple: All panoramas use the dollhouse as depthmap
Green: Each panorama has its own model as depthmap

All panoramas used here were very unlevelled for testing purposes.

Great example! *thumbup*

About the question - all 3d-formats (depth, stl, obj) can be reused for all panos.
Just use the same file and different 'origin/align' settings:
https://krpano.com/docu/xml/#depthmap.origin

The 3d-models will be automatically cached and reused (no extra loading or processing time).

A .obj for all panos allows using a textured dollhouse and at the same time depthmap-projected panos.

Best regards,
Klaus

Is multi texture obj support yet?

I checked the xml code for single obj vs multiple stl. Where do I get the origin values from if I were to do use the dollhouse as model? See sreenshot.

I see a align / prealign in the PCA tool but it doesnt seem to match when I use those values.

Tutorial is in progress!

Short:
  • Export the 'main-model' as obj
  • Use the HANDLEs to read the align/origin values

It's working. In my case i'm get align and origin value in Tour folder that is exported from PCA

Use the view.fovmin and view.fovmax settings:

Either define the fovmin/fovmax outside the scenes or remove the KEEPVIEW flag when loading them.
