[SOLVED!]Tours crash Firefox when "Hiding" Firefox in Mac OSX

  • We have solved this problem... but again are amazed that no one else seems to have reported this situation. Read the post below for detailed info about the problem.

The solution was simply changing the html parameter from "prefer" (which is actually how it's set by default in the Make Pano/Tour Droplets) to instead be "auto." Note again that there was/is no problem with Chrome or Safari, only Firefox. But now the behavior in Firefox is fine (when using html5:"auto").

    ============================

I tried to search throughout the forums but didn't find anything related to the problems we've been seeing. The hw/sw configurations are three Macs running OS 10.9 (2 iMacs and 1 MacBook Air), running Firefox (version 30.0) and we've seen this behavior with krpano 1.16 and even now with 1.17.4.

We can duplicate the crash repeatedly using our own recent pano tour - http://www.quncivillas.com/360/tour.html
But it also occurs with the krpano examples - like this one - http://www.krpano.com/krpano.html?pa…lkon/balkon.xml
    and also http://www.krpano.com/krpano.html?pa…/sanctuarie.xml

    Here is the scenario:
    - open a pano/tour
    - start autorotation
    - hide Firefox
    - try to show Firefox
the menu changes to the FF menu
    but the window never appears
bringing up the force-quit dialog box shows Firefox not responding
    - the same crashing sometimes happens when I hide Firefox even if the autorotate is not running

If you do NOT have autorotation running. SOMETIMES you can hide/show FF without problems.

Also, another strange thing is the behavior for the Command key combinations:
    - if you do NOT click on the pano window in FF, command key combinations work (Command-H for Hide, Command-T for new tab)
    - sometimes if you click any control buttons within the skin (like clicking Rotate On and then Rotate Off) the command key combinations still work
    - however, if you click on the pano itself, the command key options produce no effect - though they DO register with FF as you can see the Firefox menu highlight with Command-H and you can see the File menu highlight (with Command-T)

These panos seem to work fine with Safari and also with Chrome when hiding/showing them.

Does anyone know what might be causing these crashes?
