I'm using a Canon 350D with a Sigma Fisheye Lens and a Nodal Ninja pano head. I use my father's old tripod and it works great. I take 6 pics on the horizonal 60 degrees apart (4 click stops on the Nodal Ninja), 15 degrees pointed down (to cover the nadir) with one taken up for the apex.
On the software end I use PTGui to stitch and blend, Photoshop to touch and of course krpano to view.
Would like to hear from others!
ceeby ^^

I have a nikon d80 and a sigma fisheye 8mm 3.5f. I don't know what pano head to use with my tripod from giottos. Thanks .
Hi,
i've this nodal ninja... google it and check their site for compatibility...
maybe you have to get another tripot... i'm not sure about other brands but this one is very good quality i think.
Good luck

Nikon D80 with an 11-18 Tamron lens. I use a Panosarus as I could not afford a Nodal Ninja at that time. For $89 US it gets the job done though.
I'm using a Canon 500 D with a Sigma 8mm lens. Manfrotto self-leveling tripod with 360 Precision Absolute pano head.
360Precision Atome and Adjuste MKII
10,5 fisheye Nikon and soon a 16mm fisheye Nikon
D300 & D700
monopod or tripod and many accesories (rotuleball, suction pad, etc...)
im using Canon 400D + 10-17mm Tokina Fish Eye... Nodal Ninja 3 ..
any ideas for 10ft monopod ? was thingking to shoot 360 in 10ft above... maybe have to change lens?.. since the less shoot angle the more precise and safe when stitching.. especially to avoid all the unwanted "ghost" in overlap image...
I project and use Agnos.com hardware, but I also made on my own a lot of equipment.
Being an oldtimer fisheye freak... well...
I own them all more or less... :#)
Nikon D700 and Canon 40D, Olympus EPL-1.
As for confortable poles I can recommend the use of microphone booms, or composing 2 large Manfrotto monopods.
As pocketable head I also have an old nodal ninja. Rotator is bad, but all tre rest is well made.
I AM WAY OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE BUT NEED SOME ADVICE. HAS ANYONE USED A LADYBUG2 TO DO PANO CAPTURES? SEEMS LIKE EVERYONE IS USING PANO HEADS AND STITCHING SOFTWARE.......
I have not used the ladybug2 but what I gather is it is a 360 video device. looking at the website,
http://www.ptgrey.com/support/downlo…e_Stitching.pdf
It appears stitching is part of the ladybug package (I may be wrong here???)
I assume you could pull a single frame from a video and use it for a pano with the right software. Do you already own a ladybug2?
We do not own one (National Museum of Naval Aviation), but sure looks like a quick simple solution. We may seek someone we can rent it from?
I would think it would be cheaper to contract with someone who is already producing virtual tours. If you wish to code it yourself, I am sure a photographer would be willing to provide the images. (for the right price of course) If you wish to do it yourself, there are many websites that can lead you in the right direction. http://www.panoguide.com has helped me a lot. The forum is filled with helpful people and there is also a section giving the basics for shooting a panorama. It does take some practice and lots of trial and error but if someone can take directions well, it is fairly easy to pick up.
