Pixelhittest alternative html5

Hi everybody!

I've got the problem that I need to use partly transparent png's in an interactive floorplan to select the different buildings and levels, see: (the map opens with the button in the down-left corner)
So in the flash version I use the pixelhittest attribute to solve this problem, which unfortunately is not working in the html5 version.

Does anybody have an idea for a work-around in html5?

Your help is very much appreciated! *smile*
