Pano Joystick

I have coded a little experiment for making a joystick for controlling panos ....

At the begining it was just for fun, but thinking about it, maibe it's a good way to explore a 360pano or a 360 video without putting the fingers in the middle of the screen...

Any feedback would be appreciated

Thanks

Hi Jordi,

Great!
i would prefer it on the right side though .. haha..

I had sort of the same 2 years ago, just using the moveto navigation on iPad because you can control the pano with your finger in a small area.
Adding this 'joystick' graphic makes it complete ;-) And also more logic to control the pano with moveto because you now have a visual connection to the behavior which is i think the reason why people use the click drag (which is hell in my opinion).. haha..

Love it!
Thanks for sharing the idea!

Hei Tuur,

glad that you like it..

The code is full dynamic, so it can be easily set to everywhere you want, and not only this but also it can choose between generating the controller based on images or on layers, the size of each part, and finally the maximum velocity that the pano can reach...

Selling it, was not my initial intention but if some more users want to use it, I would prepare it for public usage, also an adaptation as a plugin for Kolor panotour would be done...

I made such kind example (http://ai360.pl/projekty/mouse_navigation/) one or two years ago. But I'm not sure if it is usefull way of navigation. It can be really irritating.

Also like yours Panomaster!
I think both are interesting .. depends on the project of course..
But i am interested in having the freedom of choice, Which makes krpano very powerful.

Interesting to see how many things is being developed by different people in parallel.

Looks very interesting, from a coding pov. I wouldnt pay for it, because like panomaster I´m not sure if it´s the best way to navigate. On Desktop PCs it´s kinda counterproductive and on smartphones it would block to much of the display. Controlling the pano directly feels much more natural on touch-devices, I think. But like Tuur said, it depends on the project. That´s the brilliance about krpano :-)

I created this example after someone has asked about this. But this is just an example and nothing more. Personally I think it's one of the worst way of panorama navigation, so I've never used it in any project. It's just a gadget.
