Multires Image in Multires Pano??

Is there some way to make an image (eg. hotspot image) multi-resolution in a pano?

I need the hotspot image to be sharp when zoomed all the way into the pano. But that high resolution image shimmer badly when zoomed out and moving|zooming. Much better would be to change the hotspot image to a version matching the pano image level. I have a workaround that can do that but it is clumsy and not very scaleable.

All the tools (multires capability) seem to be in KRPano already. Is there some way to make them apply to images as well as panos?
