Pr4 version stopped working on some android devices (but pr3 is working)

  • It's question related to this thread: Android phones showing 'HTML5 Browser with CSS3D or WebGL support required'

But I decided to create another thread.

We performed simple test. Open .html page inside android webview with this code:

And this script outputs: "Krpano working" with pr3. But since pr4(for pr5 and pr6 as well) it shows: 'Krpano NOT WORKING'.

    DEVICES

    1.
    model: ASUS Z00D
    android version: 5.0.1
    webview version: 52.0.2743.98

    2.
    model: Google Nexus I9250
    android: 4.3

Please, shed some light on this issue. What did you change in pr4 version? And how we can get around it?

    Thank you.

  • Hi,

that might be related to a new Chrome and blacklisted WebGL support on your device.
And the CSS3D support was blacklisted for Chrome because of buggy Chrome support and when WebGL is blacklisted, then hardware accelerated CSS3D isn't supported too and that leads to horrible slow and buggy CSS3D software rendering in Chrome.

But the CSS3D support in Chrome seems to have improved a bit since Chrome 50.
Try version 1.19-pr7, there the CSS3D support for Chrome is whitelisted again.

But mainly when you got into such problem - then there is a bigger problem with graphics-support in Chrome itself.

    Best regards,
    Klaus
