Smartphone / Iphone support ?

Hi Klaus and others,

You may know that Iphone will support the Flash platform soon. See here.

do you plan to integrate smartphone compatibility in krpano ?

I'm impatient of that *smile*

Hi,
do you plan to integrate smartphone compatibility in krpano ?
when there will be something available for developing, I will try it/have a look at it of course,

but note - the link you have posted just says that it will be possible to make standalone iPhone Applications with Flash CS5!
not a flash application inside the browser!

see:

best regards,
Klaus

I didn't notice this point *unsure*

Anyway, that's a good start : if krpano (or maybe krpano lite ?) can be an standalone application for Iphone, it should be easy to transpose our virtual tour on desktop computer to Iphone.

found this in via the 360cities forum,

http://janvrsinsky.com/spherical-panoram…wer-for-iphone/

Not sure if its java or 3Dcss, both work on the iPhone i believe. Maybe it's possible to make a small extension to krpano, when no flash is detected switch over to a lightweight java/3Dcss player, loading the preview image (small enough to load when limited download speed is available)

I wouldn't go for a panorama viewer app, those exist already. I think it's more important to be able to view an interactive panorama within a website (wether optimized for mobile or not) without switching to another app. This would also make it possible to view the panos on other mobile platforms.

What about when krpano becomes embeddable in a flash project, would that allow to compile the whole project (including krpano) into an iPhone app using Flash CS5?
