You need Steam, SteamVR and browser with WebVR-support (Chromium or Firefox Nightly). https://webvr.info/

So I installed Chromium (the browser I already used with Oculus rift)

Instructions are as follow :


  1. Download the latest experimental Windows Chromium build (64-bit only) by Brandon Jones (WebVR Platform Engineer, Google Chrome).
  2. In the URL bar, load chrome://flags#enable-webvr and toggle the Enable WebVR flag.
  3. In the URL bar, load chrome://flags#enable-gamepad-extensions and toggle the Enable Gamepad Extensions flag.
  4. Launch the SteamVR application.
  5. Go enjoy some WebVR content!

My concern is after step4 : once steam VR is lauched, how do you launch Chromium within the Vive ???

Just start Chromium normally from desktop.

I'm running macOS Sierra 10.12.1 , when I run tour_testingserver_macos, the terminal opens op and just says [Process Completed] and nothing happens. I know the browser should open, thats what happens when I run the exe for PC. What URL should it access in the browser and what port?

Hi,

there are currently some strange problems with the testing server on Mac OSX on some systems.
As the testing server code itself hasn't been changed, it must be something related to OSX.
I don't know yet the exact reason or solution, but I will be working on that of course.

just updated to 10.12.3.
For me the testing server works still great.
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)
I tested with safari and chrome.
No issues.

Hi, its appear that some functions on krpano 1.19-pr8 is not working. I wonder if it is not yet implemented or did I made some mistake.

I'm currently working mainly on a new tool for the vtour editor replacement (a standalone tool without Browser or Flashplayer need). This tool will also replace the current krpano tools gui, the editor and options plugins and will provide also the droplet functionality (to be able to bypass the OSX droplet system bugs).
Unfortunately I have underestimated the time for several details, but the progress itself is good and the tool will be able to do more than originally planed. I hope to be able to release it soon.

But I know there wasn't a new version for some time and because of this I'm already considering releasing a new version in-between without the new tool
and then include it in the next release. Several other features of the next (e.g. like direct stereo-input support) would be already finished...

devicename in webview

Hi, devicename is sent chorme 56 (my Galaxy S7 is recognized), but if I open the same tour in a native webview (same chrome version) then devicename is not set so screensize is not set...
Do you know what could be the problem with my android webview ?

edit :the webview adds ; wv to the user agent, so krpano thinks ; wv is the device name.
just remove ; wv frome the user agent string and it works !

No bug, that's the intended way how it should work.

The devices setting a kind of 'filter' - when its given value doesn't match the current device, then the xml element where it is defined will be 'filtered' or skipped during xml parsing.

Version 1.18 should have worked the same way, but I think there was no error reporting for a missing style...

Hi,

I have just updated to this latest krpano version having not used the software for some time. The last software version I used was krpano-1.19-pr3. I have recreated a tour using the latest release however the movement is very jerky compared to the previous version. I have tested both on the same device using the same content and the previous version is not jerky at all.

Is this a known issue? Thanks.
