Weird view.fov bug in Chrome 53 on Mac

Chrome Version: 53.0.2785.143
Mac OS Version: 10.11.6 (15G1004)

The core issue is that sometimes the krpano instance is way too zoomed-in when it loads in Chrome. I've been able to fix it by manually resetting the view.fov value. Doing so however results in a poor look as the initial load looks zoomed-in until I make the call to reset the view.fov.

It doesn't happen consistently either. Through some digging I found this which sounds promising: my pano website went nuts - jumping tiles.

Has anyone experienced this or anything similar? Any ideas of why the initial view looks so zoomed-in prior to a manual reset of the view.fov?

that sounds strange...
Do you have a link to an example where this happens?

Best regards,
