I usually got such messages when I mistyped some 'if' clause condition. Try searching your xmls for occurance of 'vr/ === null' and you will probably find where this typo is (I guess 'vr === null' or 'vr == null' is correct). Or maybe there's a forgotten comma after 'if' condition.
I rememeber I once searched for an excessive ');' in some action and it took pretty much time. so I also vote for some log messages in this case. At least indicate xml line (is that possible?) at which invalid action occurs.

That's unfortunately not possible. There are a lot steps from the source xml code to the runtime data and there are no links/references between them.
E.g. the xml code will be feed into the xml parser of the browser (or the Flashplayer in the Flash viewer case) and the output of the parser is a document data structure without any back reference - and then that data will be additionally also put/parsed into krpano data structures - additionally the also action code itself will also be parsed into an internal intermediate format without back-references.
Getting source xml line/column information into that data would be theoretically possible of course, but that would means writing a custom xml parser and storing/passing internally a lot of additional internal information - and that would mean a bigger and slower viewer...
