Krpano Smooth Movement with large memory on Mobiles

  • Hi,

I'm developing a panorama web service with krpano.
I add some plugins and JS libraries interacted with Krpano.
The problem is not JS libraries, but customized layers, hotspots, and other krpano xml things.

Those cutomized things make VR movement be not very smooth at all.
Comparing to genuine Krpano, it seems like always buffering in the mobiles.

My solution is to increase the maxmem to 150 for devices, mobile|tablet.
I read the caution, but it works smoothly. let say... much better.

I cannot remove other features or customized layers, hotspots.
Even I cannot reduce panorama Images for only mobiles and tablets, it's not up to me.

For this condition, is there any other option except increasing the maxmem??
or do I have to know some other side effects?

Furthermore, if possible, I'd like to increase more :(

  • Hi,

the maxmem settings is only related to the pano tiles loading/unloading and has no affect of the layers, hotspots or xml things.

That depends on the device of course.
Older devices have a lot fewer memory and many newer devices.
If you're target are only newer mobile devices you can easily increase that setting of course.

Thank you for your confirmation, Klaus.

I doubt the thing that "the maxmem settings is only related to the pano tiles loading/unloading".
It seems not BECAUSE i don't know exactly, but after removing all the additional xml things it's a bit smoother.
The difference is not quite big - I'd like to say it shows some difference.
Maybe.. it depends on mobile performance as you say.
