WebVR & Vive Focus

  • Have seen some successes on Oculus Go, would be interested to find out if there's anyone having success with KRpano and Vive Focus on WebVR.

Unlike Oculus, there's no proper native browser supporting WebVR on Vive Focus yet, therefore the workaround we are doing is to use Chrome 64+ instead.

With adjustments made to IPD and distortion coefficient, the MobileVR interface works but the only issue is it's pretty jerky due to 60fps limit.

Meantime, if WebVR tags are enabled in chrome://flags, though fps is good, the image of 2 eyes simply don't intersect correctly (i.e. 2 crosses don't align).

Thus - Is there any way to manual modify values in WebVR mode, e.g. IPD, FOV, screen sized or distortion coefficient?

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

No, in the WebVR case the browser itself takes control about all these things.

That means when the VR rendering doesn't match the headset, then the browser itself doesn't support it.

The best here might be a report to Google or to HTC...

    Best regards,
    Klaus
