3d models inside everpano

I wonder is it possible to do it?
I know about possiblility to use three.js inside krpano, but since new dolly house view feature is something similar maybe it's methods can be used to display external 3d models?

Is there an update on support for 3d models in krpano? Looking forward to it.

Could you give us a hint on what file format will be supported? The current way of using three.js is quite inconvenient for me, out of all the formats I work with (Artec Studio mostly) only .OBJ is supported and I have to use either a converter or a third party 3D software, performing 3d model import\export in the required format and often errors appear or problems with textures. I hope we will see support for 3d models very soon :)

Hi Klaus,

any solution to solve the problem of glistering image hotspot in KrPano project with depthmap support?

we inserted 1024x768 jpeg image into the scene as an embedded picture, like painting on the wall. yet the image will glister whenever the view rotates or we move around, esp. when there are lots of words on the image. I guess the problem results in mipmapping in rendering.

we tried to insert plane carrying the jpeg image via three.js r.116, the image doesnot glister anymore. but the image from three.js will be attached to the view, that means move together with the camera.

any solution on this? our current project is blocked on this barrier.

thanks

I assume you mean 'aliasing' - that can happen when the source resolution of the image that should get displayed is higher than resolution at which it gets rendered. Mipmapping can indeed help in such case.

In this case first enable the 'mipmapping' setting for the hotspot:
https://krpano.com/docu/xml/#hotspot.mipmapping
and second make sure that the pixel-width AND height of the image have a power-of-two size (e.g. 256, 512, 1024, 2048, ...).

E.g. upscale the image from 1024x768 to 1024x1024 and then in xml scale it back by manually setting width/height to the original size:

Source code

1
<hotspot ... url="hs1024x1024.jpg" mipmapping="true" width="1024" height="768" />

Best regards,
Klaus
