Windows cmd char length issue with makepano tool and lots of input files

  • We consistently have more than 100 images per tour version that we run through our KRPano workflow. We're coming up against the windows cmd line character limit of 8191 (on Win 10). We share the images in a deeply nested Dropbox folder, so right now our workaround is to copy the images to the root of a drive and select them from there.

It would be much better to be able to use a .txt file or otherwise that lists the image paths to use, and refer to that on the command line. I haven't seen such an option in the documentation - does it currently exist or can it be added? Or is there another suitable workaround?

    Thanks,
    Cameron

  • You can put the pictures to be processed into a directory, and then use the following command line:"krpanotools makepano - config = templates/vtour-normal.config /pic/*. jpg". Note that the extension and case should be consistent.

Thanks for the suggestion covis. Forgot to mention we have been using this as a workaround. While it does work, we would like to know if there's another way to accomplish it because of copying/deletion time and large drive space requirements (many GB usually, we render out 16K 360 images often, and in stereo...). The workflow isn't exactly as user friendly as we need.
