Live Video Presenter

Is it possible to code the ability to have a live video call within a pano? For example, the viewer can connect to a presenter via live video call?

3D Vista is about to release something like this (https://youtu.be/Frjp5sqPDLU?t=136) and there's also a company I know of doing it (https://www.eyespy360.com/en/feature/EyeSpyLIVE.html)

If this is possible using krpano (or another method alongside krpano) I am interested in speaking with anyone that can do this.

Looking at this myself and yes there are a host of ways of doing it some low cost or free if you are willing to code all the client and server code required yourself.

As I understand things WebRTC (opensource) will handle the streaming component (your screenshare, video and audio) and a realtime messaging server will need to handle the rest.

Not sure how 3DVista are doing it, but I think eyespy 360 from a glance may be using webRTC and Ably. Ably is not free.

Some solutions with a nice API wrapped around all the heavy lifting can be found but can be very expensive - as in thousands of $ per month depending on usage.

Looked at literally dozens of solutions so far - brain fried!!

That would be a cool feature to offer, but i don't think it is easy to implement that yourself.
i googled a bit but I couldn't find a base framework.
lots of questions on how this even works...

Definitely worth looking at Ably (they have a free usage tarif) and one of the WebRTC libraries as a proof of concept.

Platforms like Zoom (they also have an API) could be used - why reinvent the wheel? - but it would be nice to have functionality built into your tours.

You could do something pretty nice fairly quickly with Vonage but the pricing is.....well.....see attachment.

Yeah, there no way I have the knowledge or skill to implement this myself. But I will be wanting to get some quotes for work I have coming up, which I will post here in a couple of weeks, and having this function would be the icing on the cake.

Can I ask whether this is video call 1:1 or 1:many - with screen share?

Thanks

Sounds good and presume it works OK on windows, android and ios? Any ideas on timings?

Definitely interested. I presume this plugin will require some kind of php / sql database being setup to store the commands which the receiving krpano can retrieve? Happy to be a beta tester if you need one :-)
