Does KR Pano remove Color profile from the jpg tiles?

  • When opening the source equi in Photoshop it has correct sRGB Color profile. When opening a Kr pano jpg tile from this equi in Photoshop it says the Color profile is missing. This leads to false colors when viewing the virtual tour with Firefox on an iMAC with a wide gamut display (p3 Color space). Chrome and Safari obviously interpreting the missing Color profile correctly as sRGB.
Tested with PTP and latest KR Pano update on iMAC with Retina display and latest Firefox.
    Any suggestions?

  • Hi,

the krpano tools have fully color profile support:
    - the sphere-to-cube/cube-to-sphere tool are transferring the embedded color-profiles directly from the input to the output files
    - and the makepano tools is converting to sRGB and embedding a tiny sRGB profile by default

But you wrote about PTP - Panotour Pro doesn't use the krpano tools and has its own image processing. And I must admit I don't know if Panotour Pro has color profile support...

Maybe try that - build your tour using PTP, then build the pano images again using krpano and then replace the PTP <image> elements and tiles with them from krpano. This way you should get color profile support (and probably also better image quality and faster loading).

    Best regards,
    Klaus
